This document is the initial Policy Recommendations report from PROPS in terms of Promotion of SSS and Intermodality. It will serve as template for the annual summary reports on policy recommendation to be delivered by PROPS (due in June 2009, 2010 and 2011). The purpose is to provide recommendations to the European Commission (and indirectly the Member States) based on outcomes from the PROPS project, while taking into consideration other relevant developments external to the project.

The recommendations focus on the promotion of SSS and Intermodality, which aim is to inform, demonstrate, support and facilitate the development of SSS and Intermodality in Europe. Areas covered for policy recommendations include: EU Legislations; EU Funding; Technical Support from the EC; Awareness Raising / Perception of SSS and intermodality; Knowledge diffusion, Education, Training; R&D and Innovations; Coordination and Business Networking service providers; European logistics and transport demand.
